Uganda

Beginning in 2007, the Ugandan government will sponsor students in private secondary schools, this according to the State Minister for Higher Education, Gabriel Opio.  Opio further explained that although government policy dictates that every sub-county should have secondary schools, most northern sub-counties in Uganda do not.  The Ugandan government is seeking to develop a partnership with private schools for placement of students under the Universal Post-Primary Education and Training program.
